Saturday Steals – Maximus/Minimus

It doesn’t squeal as it drives around town, but you might when you see the Maximus/Minimus pig roll by. This larger than life rolling pork cookhouse delivers flavors worth oinking about. From the spicier Maximus pulled pork to its sweeter sister Minimus, these sandwiches are ones to remember.

Though it’s nearly a dollar more to add Beecher’s Flagship cheese to any of their sandwiches, I highly recommend it. The nutty undertones of this salty cheese are crumbled into your sandwich. It gives the succulent bites of meat an additional decadence.

NOTE: Beecher’s Handmade Cheese opened its doors in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market in November of 2003. Flagship is Beecher’s signature cheese. As with all of their cheeses, each wheel is handmade. See more about the cheese here.

Sandwiches are pricy for the portion size. The real steal of a deal is their Taco Tuesday. However, it’s not a given. You’ll want to check their Twitter feed for the latest details. Choices for tacos can include menu regulars like pulled pork or grilled chicken. They also might feature a black bean and sweet potato which is packed with flavors even a meat lover can get behind.

COST
Sandwiches (Pulled Pork, Veg, or Grilled Chicken): $6.36 (add Becher’s Flagship cheese: $.91; add slaw: $1.36; add chips: $1.82)
Tacos: 1 for $2.50 or 3 for $6.00

Truck Locations
Generally located on 2nd and Pike in Downtown Seattle
