Saturday Steals – Shilla Korean BBQ 2

Best M’s Game Day “Carry Ins”

Shilla Korean BBQ
Located within the Uwajimaya food court, this isn’t your standard, supremely subpar food court fare. The Uwajimaya food court has a surprisingly good selection of tasty, cheap eats.

The best game day deal is at the Shilla Korean BBQ. Show them your day-of-game Mariners ticket and receive 10% off your final bill.
You might be tempted to order the Country Style ‘Bi Bim’ Rice Bowl. Don’t. It’s fantastic, but the egg doesn’t travel well. Opt instead for the Korean Style BBQ Beef, Beef Ribs, Korean Style Grilled Chicken or the Spicy BBQ Pork.

(1 – 4 are served with your choice of kimchi or salad; brown rice $0.25 extra)
1. Korean Style BBQ Beef: $6.79
2. Beef Ribs: $8.99
3. Korean Style Grilled Chicken: $6.79
4. Spicy BBQ Pork: $6.79
5. Country Style ‘Bi Bim’ Rice Bowl: $7.99

Addition Carry In Favorite – El Camion
Located across from the WAMU Theater on Occidental, this stationary food truck dishes up some of the city’s best tacos and burritos. You can read more about it here, but word to the wise on “carry in” items – the burritos travel best. And, I recommend skipping the Cochinita Pibil (seasoned pork), Adobada (marinated spicy pork), and chorizo (fresh Mexican sausage). All three meats are quite greasy and make for a messy bag of food.

About Mikaela Cowles

I’m a food-gobbling, book-reading, aspiring photog. Born and raised in Seattle, I love dancing in the rain, bouquets of fresh basil and green grass between my toes. I like how kneading butter into flour makes my fingers soft. I’m passionate about all things sweet potato. I prefer my coffee black, my scotch on the rocks and my steak bloody. I hunt, when I have time; play basketball; and hike. I’ve been known to laugh so hard I hyperventilate. And, I’m the owner of Making Language Count, a boutique freelance writing business.
